I love this time of year as the bait comes into the river and the trout bite is unreal! A 15-20 Speckled Trout day is common this time of year. Ranging from 15″ to 32″ in size. 8.5 lb Gator Trout was caught Memorial weekend on live bait.
Tarpon are starting to show up in the Lagoon feasting on live crabs, mullet, and shrimp. Their tough to get to bite but when they do, expect a show!! Redfish bite has been slower than recent years but signs of life have shown up as the river water clears. I expect a strong June and July Redfish bite as the water will keep clearing up and the fish will hug the bank lines hunting for a easy meal.
